- Who is Wounded Warrior Project?
- Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) is our nation’s leading veterans service organization, focused on the total well-being of post-9/11 wounded, ill, or injured veterans. Our programs, advocacy, and awareness efforts help wounded warriors thrive, provide essential lifelines to families and caregivers, and prevent veteran suicides. We’re changing the way our nation cares for veterans for generations to come.
- I would like to share Honor Their Courage with my school principal and/or administration, what’s the best way to get started?
You can start by sharing our ready-to-use letter to schools with your principal or school leadership. Just add your name and pass it along to your school team.
- I signed up for the Honor Their Courage program. Where do I locate the educational materials?
Click the LOGIN (top, right corner of this page).
Enter your username and password you created during registration.
After logging in, locate the red navigation banner in the center of the page and click on “Educational Resources” to start browsing our library. -
I registered my classroom for the Honor Their Courage program, but now my whole school wants to participate. Can I change my registration to reflect our school participation?
- Yes! Please email us and let us know the approximate number of participants you will have from your school, and we’ll edit your registration
- Do I have to fundraise to participate in the Honor Their Courage program?
By fundraising through the Honor Their Courage program, your classroom or school helps support empowering programs and services that help warriors and their families thrive for a lifetime.
While fundraising is encouraged and deeply appreciated, it is not required to participate.
- I would like to fundraise, but I need ideas! Can you help?
Yes! Many schools and classrooms fundraise in creative ways – coin wars, dress-up or dress-down days, and grade-level competitions. My fundraising page was created with a goal of $250. Do I have to raise $250?
We encourage you to involve your students in finding a fundraising goal that works well for your classroom or school. $250 is a flexible goal, you can update the goal on your fundraising page at any time.
Can Pre-K students participate in the Honor Their Courage program?
Yes! New this year, we’re offering resources for preschool students. Once you register, visit our Education Resources and take a look at our new Pre-K activities like our Coloring Pages and Art Activity.
Fundraising FAQs
- Where do my fundraising dollars go?
100% of the funds raised from the event support wounded warriors. About 71% of donations pay for programs, and the balance pays to support those programs. We are humbled to be recognized as a nonprofit organization with great impact, operating efficiently, transparently, and accountable. We are an accredited nonprofit with the Better Business Bureau (BBB); earned a Four-Star Rating from Charity Navigator, and we hold a Candid (formerly GuideStar) Platinum rating.

- Is there a Classroom or School fundraising minimum?
- Although no minimum amount is required, your donations ensure that no wounded warrior ever pays a penny for mental health services, career counseling, or long-term rehabilitative care. You and your Classroom or School can also qualify for special fundraising prizes!
- What if I’ve never fundraised before?
We’re here to help! Following our step-by-step instructions on how to jump-start your fundraising on your dashboard. We have pre-written fundraising coaching emails, fundraising resources, guides, and more. Together, we’ll turn you into a seasoned fundraising pro. Email us if you have questions.
- Are there any fundraising incentives?
Yes! Honor Their Courage fundraising prizes are just one way to say thank you for taking on ‘extra credit’ and honoring wounded warriors. We’ll reward your fundraising efforts with WWP prizes for unlocking fundraising levels.

- Where can I get a copy of Wounded Warrior Project’s W-9 to request a check for our donation?
Please contact us directly, and we’ll be happy to provide it.
- What is Wounded Warrior Project’s tax ID number?
- It is 20-2370934.
- A supporter accidentally made a general donation instead of donating to my Classroom fundraising page or School. Now what?
Contact us , and we can move the funds to your fundraising page.
- How do I post an offline donation on my fundraising page?
Log in to your fundraising page. In the top menu, select “Resources.” Select “Offline Donation Form” and fill out the form. Mail your offline donations to:

- How do I turn in cash or check donations?
Donating online is the fastest, most secure way to make donations. For any offline donations, visit Turn in Funds or email us and we can help answer any questions.

How can I ensure my offline donations are credited to my account?

Ensure that an Offline Donation Form accompanies every donation. If you have any questions regarding the status of your offline donation, please contact us.
- Are donations tax-deductible?
- All donations are 100% tax deductible, as allowed by law, in the same calendar year they were made. Always rely on your tax professional to determine which deductions you (or those who donate toward your participant goal) are eligible for.
- How can I see who has donated to me?
Log in to your fundraising page . Select “Donations” from the top menu, and you’ll be shown a list of all your donations. This is a good reminder to thank every donor who has given to your fundraising campaign.
- What if my donors need a receipt?
Every online donor receives a receipt via email that is sufficient for tax purposes. Offline donors receive a mailed thank you letter when their donation is received, confirmed by WWP, and a mailing address is provided. Contact us if you still need to locate the receipt.
- My donation hasn’t posted yet. What if it’s lost?
Please allow 15-20 business days for us to receive the check and approve the donation. Please contact us if the donation is not approved within 20 business days.

- Where do I register?

Start here. Select the grade level that best fits your school or classroom and begin the registration process.
- How do I register a Classroom?

During registration, select “Register a Classroom” and follow the steps to complete your registration.
Choose this option if you’re the only educator in your school participating in Honor Their Courage. Don’t worry – you can change your status later if your school is active. Just send us an email!
- How do I register a School?
During registration, select the “Register a School” option. Select “School” under School Type, enter your school’s name, and set your school fundraising goal.
Choose this option if you expect multiple classrooms from your school to participate in Honor Their Courage. You can always welcome others to join you later as you go.
- How do I register to be part of a School?
- Select the “Join a School” option during registration and begin searching for your school or ask your school leader to share a direct link to make joining even easier.
School FAQs
- Where can I find my School roster?
Visit your School Page from your fundraising dashboard to see who has joined your School and how much they have raised.
- How is a School Page different from my personal fundraising page?
- The School Page tracks the overall donations raised by the School (and the Classrooms registered to it). Donations to your fundraising page count toward your School fundraising goal and help you qualify for individual fundraising incentives.
Classroom FAQs
- How can I boost my Classroom’s fundraising efforts?
- Utilize the fundraising tools available on your Dashboard, such as email templates and social media sharing options. You can also engage your students by setting class goals, encouraging friendly challenges, or tying fundraising milestones to classroom rewards. Don’t forget to share your fundraiser with parents and your wider school community for extra support! Consider connecting your fundraiser directly to Facebook!
